2010 NBA Draft – #2 Pick – Philadelphia 76ers – Evan Turner (Guard) – Ohio State Record: 27 – 55 Starters: Jrue Holliday, Andre Iguodala, Thaddeus Young, Elton Brand, Spencer Hawes Bench: Lou Williams, Willie Green, Andres Nocioni

New Jersey Nets Tickets – History Avoided

With a win over the San Antonio Spurs on March 29, 2010, the New Jersey nets avoided becoming the second team to fail to win 10 games in an 82-game NBA season.  The Nets flirted with the pace of the 1972-73 Philadelphia 76ers, who ended up winning a mere nine games that season, throughout the year, until a recent stretch in which they won three of four and wiggled their way out of the back pages of the record books.  One might assume that a franchise that flirted with such a record would be in dire straits, but I don’t believe this to be the case with the Nets.  Yes, the team struggled mightily this season, but I think this is an organization with a bright future.

There are several reasons why I think that <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);” href=”http://www.stubhub.com/new-jersey-nets-tickets/”>New Jersey Nets tickets</a> will be increasingly popular in the coming seasons.  The

NBA Tickets – Lottery Mock Draft

NBA Tickets – Lottery Mock Draft

A lot of underclassmen have declared for the NBA Draft, so I figured it was as good a time as any to do another mock draft for the lottery.  The draft order was determined by record.  (Note: This article was written on April 28th.)

New Jersey Nets – John Wall, Point Guard, Kentucky: Wall will be the top pick unless Utah or New Orleans wins the lottery; then the pick will either be moved or Evan Turner will go number one.  One might be able to add Minnesota to that group as well.  The Nets have Devin Harris, but he’s not better than Wall and definitely won’t sell as many <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);” href=”http://www.stubhub.com/nba-tickets/”>NBA tickets</a>.  Drafting Wall would allow the team to ship Harris for another asset and build the roster around Wall and Brook Lopez, which is a very nice start.

Minnesota Timberwolves – Evan Turner, Shooting Guard, Ohio

Los Angeles Lakers Playoff Tickets ? Phil Jackson is More Than the Zen Master

I know; Phil Jackson has had a lot of talent to work with in his career. He worked with Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen in their primes. Shaquille O’Neal was perhaps the most dominating big man ever in his tenure in L.A. and Kobe Bryant is still one of the very best players in the game. Naysayers of Jackson, which get fewer and fewer with every title, love to point out that other coaches could have won titles with players like MJ and the Diesel, with the goal of showing that this somehow diminishes Jackson’s 10 NBA championships.

Instead, as the Lakers look primed to cruise once again into the Western Conference Finals, it’s time to look at Jackson’s career from a new perspective, one that takes into consideration how he has maxed out the talents of some of the greatest players ever to play the game.

To defend Jackson’s coaching abilities, one doesn’t need to look any further than the career of Dennis Rodman. After Jordan returned

Where Does Allen Iverson Live?

Where Does Allen Iverson Live?

While many may know where does Allen Iverson live, they may not have been aware of his difficult days before he became famous.

Allen Iverson was born to his mother, Ann when his mother was only 15 years old. She was a single mother and it was indeed tough for her to make ends meet. They lived in a house in Hampton, Virginia on top of the city sewers. Whenever the sewers burst the floor would be covered by layers of sewage. Due to their financial constraints, the house was often running out of water or having no electricity because of the unpaid bills. Iverson’s father had never been a father to him. He stayed in Connecticut where his mother and father stayed before Allen was born.

After Allen Iverson was being drafted to be the first overall by the National Basketball Association team of Philadelphia 76ers in 1996, he finally bought a house in the vicinity of Villanova, Pennsylvania. The house measures about 14,000 square and has six massive bedrooms, an

Top 20 Cleveland Cavaliers: #19 Donyell Marshall

Top 20 Cleveland Cavaliers: #19 Donyell Marshall

It took me a while to justify this pick, but coming in at #19 is Donyell Marshall, a great Cavalier in his own right.  Donyell grew up in Pennsylvania, and was a top basketball recruit in the country after leading his high school team to a 29-2 record his senior year.  He decided to play for UConn, and put together an impressive college resume including 1993 Big East Player of the Year.

Minnesota drafted D-Marsh with the 4th overall pick in the 1994 draft.  40 games into his rookie season, they decided to trade him to Golden State for Tom Gugliotta.  He played for Golden State until 2000, but playing for the Warriors pretty much makes you irrelevant.  Donyell then was traded to Utah, signed with Chicago, and then was traded to Toronto all before 2003.  In a March 13th, 2005 game with the Raptors, he tied Kobe Bryant’s record for three point field goals in a game when he nailed 12 of 19.  That was pretty much Donyell at his

NBA Tickets ? Post-Lottery Mock Draft

Now that the draft order is set, here is my latest mock draft for the top 14 picks:

Washington Wizards – John Wall, Point Guard, Kentucky: The Wizards must be thrilled to have won the top pick, and will almost surely draft John Wall.  Wall will be able to sells tons of <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);” href=”http://www.stubhub.com/nba-tickets/”>NBA tickets</a> for the Wizards and gives them a real building block moving forward.  The team can now shop Gilbert Arenas heavily.

Philadelphia 76ers – Evan Turner, Shooting Guard, Ohio State: The Sixers don’t really need Turner, and they could look to trade down as a result, but I think they’ll take him if they stay at the two spot.  He would be a nice player to pair with budding point guard Jrue Holiday and could allow the team to shop Andre Iguodala.

New Jersey Nets – Derrick Favors, Power Forward, Georgia

NBA Tickets ? Lottery Mock: If I Was Picking

NBA Tickets ? Lottery Mock: If I Was Picking

Normally, mock drafts are based on what one thinks each team will do, but this mock is based on what I would do if I were running each team picking in the lottery this offseason.

Washington Wizards – John Wall, Point Guard, Kentucky: Wall is going to immediately help sell NBA tickets and he’s basically the consensus number one pick. Passing on him is the kind of move that gets you fired.

Philadelphia 76ers – Evan Turner, Shooting Guard, Ohio State: I’d be really tempted to take Derrick Favors here, but you can’t take that much of a risk with the second overall pick when a reliable player like Turner is on the board. I would look to shop Andre Iguodala after making this pick.

New Jersey Nets – Derrick Favors, Power Forward, Georgia Tech: Favors is an upside pick, but the potential to be great is there. I see his ceiling as some kind of combination of Dwight Howard and a young Antonio McDyess. That kind of potential is too good to pass up

Miami Heat Odds: James, Bosh and Wade Instant Favorites

In one of the biggest NBA free agency signing periods in the history of the National Basketball Association, the Miami Heat landed the big prize as LeBron James will desert his hometown team in Cleveland and play for the Miami Heat, who will retain their own superstar free agent Dwyane Wade along with adding on yet another superstar forward Chris Bosh from the Toronto Raptors. The moves are likely to make the Heat an instant futures betting favorite in basketball odds at online sportsbooks to win the NBA title as well as a potential overlay on the board as they will instantly become a “public” choice along with the defending world champion Los Angeles Lakers.

In other big name NBA free agency signings, the New York Knicks forked out 0 million to the Phoenix Suns’ power forward Amare Stoudemire for a 5-year deal that is hoped to jump start the down and out marquee franchise of the league. The Chicago Bulls made big news with the signing of

Nba Live 10

Features

A number of new features were added to NBA Live 10. Audiences were given a bigger role to create more lifelike atmospheres. In addition, each team was given its individual playing style, with faster running animations that take into account the size of each player. Passing and shooting were also improved by adding new controls and features. A new training facility called “The Hangar” was included as well. There were many improvements to the details of the players including their tattoos, hair, shoes, uniforms, signature shots, and moves. Also, “Dynamic DNA,” introduced in NBA Live 09, was improved. NBA Live 10 also contained 24 authentic, fully-licensed FIBA teams.

Soundtrack

The complete NBA Live 10 soundtrack was announced by EA Sports on July 31, 2009. It features 25 songs.. With the exception of a song by indie rock duo Matt & Kim, the soundtrack compromises entirely of hip-hop songs.
